چکیده

Abstract We present a new generalized algorithm which allows the construction of Bäcklund transformations (BTs) for higher order ordinary differential equations (ODEs). This algorithm is based on the idea of seeking transformations that preserve the Painlevé property, and is applied here to ODEs of various orders in order to recover, amongst others, their autoBTs. Of the ODEs considered here, one is seen to be of particular interest because it allows us to show that auto-BTs can be obtained in various ways, i.e. not only by using the severest of the possible restrictions of our algorithm.

Bäcklund transformations for discrete Painlevé equations : dPII-dPV

Transformation properties of discrete Painlevé equations are investigated by using an algorithmic method. This method yields explicit transformations which relates the solutions of discrete Painlevé equations, dPIIdPV, with different parameters. Rational solutions and elementary solutions of discrete Painlevé equations can also be obtained from these transformations.

Quantizing the Bäcklund transformations of Painlevé equations and the quantum discrete Painlevé VI equation

Based on the works by Kajiwara, Noumi and Yamada, we propose a canonically quantized version of the rational Weyl group representation which originally arose as “symmetries” or the Bäcklund transformations in Painlevé equations. We thereby propose a quantization of discrete Painlevé VI equation as a discrete Hamiltonian flow commuting with the action of W (D (1) 4 ). 1

Bäcklund transformations for the second Painlevé hierarchy: a modified truncation approach

The second Painlevé hierarchy is defined as the hierarchy of ordinary differential equations obtained by similarity reduction from the modified Korteweg-de Vries hierarchy. Its first member is the well-known second Painlevé equation, PII . In this paper we use this hierarchy in order to illustrate our application of the truncation procedure in Painlevé analysis to ordinary differential equation...

Bäcklund transformations for discrete Painlevé equations: Discrete PII–PV

Transformation properties of discrete Painlevé equations are investigated by using an algorithmic method. The particular solutions which are expressible in terms of the discrete analogue of the classical special functions of discrete Painl...

Truncation-type Methods and Bäcklund Transformations for Ordinary Differential Equations: the Third and Fifth Painlevé Equations

In a recent paper we presented a truncation-type method of deriving Bäcklund transformations for ordinary differential equations. This method is based on a consideration of truncation as a mapping that preserves the locations of a natural subset of the movable poles that the equation possesses. Here we apply this approach to the third and fifth Painlevé equations. For the third Painlevé equatio...
